OKAY MINI SAKURACON REPORT because I'm too tired to do a big write-up thing and I know I never will otherwise:
The Masquerade Ball was a huge disappointment. None of my friends wanted to go so I had no one to dance with. Even though my costume was considered nice enough to let me in, I still felt really out of place because so few other cosplayers were being let it; it was mostly people in ball gowns and I had left mine at home because it was too big. I sat and emo'd for like 20 minutes before leaving. Sigh. ):
Got interviewed live on Nico Nico! They had a booth in the exhibitor's hall (promoting their new English Beta website) and were interviewing random cosplayers who walked by. I was standing in the background and I saw all these comments scrolling by saying "Grab the green-haired chick! GREEN HAAAIR!" and when I was pulled up to the mic it was pretty much just spam of IOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNN. xD I was too shy to talk in Japanese, so I did it all in English. They asked about how I made my costume and then opened for questions from the viewers. The FIRST thing I see? "*RAPIST STARE*" and then like 5 offers from people to date them. I was blushing so much ffffff. Too bad it was a live broadcast; I'd love a chance to go through it and see what the Japanese comments were.
Won 2nd in a mini Tales of Cosplay contest! One of the panels was just kind of a gathering for Tales of fans, and they had 10 or so cosplayers enter. The two judges couldn't make up their minds, so they just did a guess based on applause. I won a Tales of Symphonia artbook and an Estelle figurine. : D
Went to a Yaoi Panel with a Jade cosplayer. The best part of that panel was getting to say Jade and Ion when to a yaoi panel together. The panel itself was very dated information-wise, the guy in front of us smelled like a sewer, and every misstated fact about Japan said by the lecturer made me rage a little bit.
Went to see Where Fanfic Goes to Die again. There was a My Little Pony fanfiction I'd rather soon forget. Sob. And I won't even get into Slavebear Goes to Careland. Sob. I was disappointed, though, that I didn't get to hear them read the latest chapter of HAAAAAAAAAH which was my favorite story last year. Sob.
Got sick the last day after coming home. Which is why this is so... blah. Because I'm still sick. My sore throat hasn't improved at all since Sunday and the doctor already ruled out Strep. She told me to come back if it wasn't gone by Monday because it could be Mono, which... I really really really don't want to have. Since it lasts for like ever, has a lot of complications associated with it, and I really can't afford to miss anymore school. Plus, what kind of lame person gets the Kissing Disease having never kissed anyone? Okay I'm just lame since that part actually bothers me the most because I know my friends will tease me about it because I know them and they'll think it's funny.
HNNNG. Don't feel like typing anymore. I'm just gonna stare at my computer screen for a few hours and choke down some more cough drops.
(Can you tell I'm just a delightful person when I'm sick?)

When will my day come, Sarah?
Okay, seriously, I wanna go to a fanfic panel sometime. Delicious badfic. Also there's nothing funnier than outdated and really badly informed panels.

I actually. Got a recording. Of part of the reading for Slavebear Goes to Careland. I'll put it on YouTube someday.
I also forgot to mention, but they had a bunch of guys come on stage to "act it out" in whatever way they could. One of those guys? Was Jesus. At 2 am on Easter Sunday morning.
I'm going to hell.
