Graduation
Today my sister Michelle graduated from high school. I was playing in the band; we took a bus to the Tacoma dome from the school. I was almost late, however, because Michelle takes so long to get ready. I forgot my Zune in her car, though, so I was bored the whole ride there...
When we got there, we set up... which was confusing. There weren't enough chairs or spaces for the flutes, and the strings were taking up a lot of room... especially since most of them refused to put their bags and stuff behind the stage so it would be out of the way. We played Pirates of the Caribbean (which we really messed up on) and Grease, which I was really lost on... we didn't get to play Queen though; it was sad.
But then we played Pomp and Circumstance. And all the seniors walked in. It was really something special. Mind you, we had to repeat that damn song maybe 15 times... but it was still an amazing ceremony. We ended with March from Aida, and then I got a ride home with my mom and dad.
Afterward, my grandparents came over and we ate dinner. It was nice. The cake was kinda icky in teh end. Michelle got her graduation present: a new laptop complete with Windows Vista. After that she left for Grad Night and Mac came over to spend the night.
Basically: We went to Wal-mart and bought $15 worth of candy, including a monster box of 30 candybars. We sat in the hot tub for 3 hours and talked about stuff. Then we watched Scrubs and ate pizza until 4 am when we fell asleep.
It. Was. AWESOME. Probably one of the best days I've had in awhile. I don't get to really talk to a lot of my friends sometimes... I mean, we'll chat and giggle, but we don't really talk about stuff. I think hot tubs are good for that.
I still have hoemwork though... I have to write 30 poems of particular formats, then find an example of each format, and type an explanation as to why I chose the poem for each. Then I have a 3 page packet of math review questions that I don't remember how to do, a large portfolio of everything I've done in Journalism for the whole year, and finally a packet about the frog dissection we did in biology last Friday. I haven't finished anything yet. Most of it's due Monday. All of it's due Tuesday.
